Face + Paint

Artist Andy Alcala brings on a whole new meaning to the idea of the self-portrait. He chose several famous paintings and then used himself as a canvas. Aren't they wonderfully dramatic? The different consistencies of the paint are so visually stimulating and I adore how he included Banksy in his canon.

Starry Night, Vincent Van Gogh
The Son of Man, Renee Magritte
Campbells Soup Can, Andy Warhol
The Scream, Edvard Munch
Composition II in Red Blue and Yellow, Piet Mondrian
Balloon Girl, Banksy
One: No. 31, Jackson Pollock
No. 14, Mark Rothko
