American + English

Whenever I hear people speaking in a different language, I often think about how beautiful it sounds  (French, Spanish, Italian) or how interesting and complicated (Chinese, Thai, Arabic). Which then leads me to think about how ugly and flat I find English. Especially American English. So I've always wonderdered, how does English sound to non-Engish speakers?

Well, here's a short video called Skewl that tries to show just that. I'd say it seems pretty accurate. Sadly, it only confirms my thoughts on the language.

Valentine + Garland

Away from loved ones this Valentine's day? Why not send them some love in the mail! Oh Happy Day! has a simple tutorial for these adorable Mailable Valentine Garlands. Just cut up some letters, string them, and post! 

P.S. A new year's resolution I just decided on is doing more of my own DIY's on weekends. There's a whole world of arts and crafts projects out there and I need to get my hands dirty more often. 

A little glitter and glue does that heart good.

Mardi + Gras

Fun Fact: St. Louis has the second biggest Mardi Gras celebrations in the world. WOO! So to accompany such an event, I decided to try out my new Mily Makeup Simply Liners eyeliner stickers, both the winged purple liner and the more eccentric ones, paired with a jeweled bindi sticker and some gold leaf.

I was worried they would feel stiff and uncomfortable but surprisingly once they were on I couldn't feel a thing! I didn't have to worry about smudging or rubbing off, and at the end of the day I peeled them off and set them aside for another day. I would highly recommend them- I received many a compliment from my fellow Mardi-Gras-ers.

My favorite song was a new release from the band Social Studies off their album Developer. We were totally digging it and it turns out I like every song from their album. Kind of dark and pulse-y.

Charles + Olive

UK-based Charles Olive produces bow ties that are fabulously bold in both print and pattern. Such an unexpected pop of color in a much under-used and under-appreciated area of menswear. 

How dapper are they paired with a beard? Their stylist seemed to think so as well.

I always require my dates to wear bow ties. Preferably gold ones.
