Lustful + Libraries

What better post to do during finals week then one on libraries? Because we're not seeing enough of them as it is.
 ha ha.
The 25 Most Beautiful College Libraries in the World
(I've chosen a couple of my favorites from the list.)

Cornell Law School Library, Ithaca, NY

Queen’s College Library, Oxford University, Oxford, UK
(personal fave)

George Peabody Library, Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, MD
( you could spend HOURS here.)

Frederick Ferris Thompson Memorial Library, Vassar College, Poughkeepsie, NY
(Where my sister Selina went to school! I personally don't think this photo does it justice though..)

The University of Coimbra General Library, Coimbra, Portugal. so regal.

Old Library, St. John’s College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, UK (where my Uncle Julian went to college. So gorgeous.)

Wren Library, Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, UK.
(my aunt Camilla went here! love the sculptures.)

The Harper Library Reading Room, University of Chicago, Chicago, IL. Can you say Harry Potter?

Suzzallo Library’s Graduate Reading Room at the University of Washington, Seattle, WA. You could also probably say Harry Potter here if you wanted...

Beinecke Rare Book and Manuscript Library, Yale University, New Haven, CT. Such a bizarre building.

The Trinity College Library, aka “The Long Room,” Dublin, Ireland

Anheuser-Busch Law Library, Washington University in Saint Louis
(Just kidding this wasn't on the list but it SHOULD be.)

Sequin + Sweater

Perfect to cozy up in this winter.  My favorite is the astronaut. Saturn is a close second. Guess I'm feeling the galactic vibe more than the ugly dog one.

Temp + Tats

Tattly Designy Temporary Tattoos. Who said forever is better?
Check out their website, its full of awesome temporary tattoos and, better yet, they even show you what they look like when applied to actual skin so you know exactly what you're getting.
Pretty dope, huh?

my personal fave.

this one is mix and match!! How cool??

Take + Care

Love The XX? Drake? How about Rihanna? or FLORENCE?
Then I'm about to blow your mind and rock your world.
(unless of course you've already heard this.. anti-climatic...)

Florence + The Machine
covering Drake's Take Care feat Rihanna and The XX.
Enjoy.
(Skip to 11:10. Or, ya know, watch the whole thing. Your call.)

(side note, if you start watching at 10:25, doesn't she remind you of Shy Ronnie??)

If you don't know the original, you should:

Holiday + Gold

Last weekend I was at a Holiday party with my fabulous friend Emma and she spotted this gem of a nutcracker in the apartment and so naturally I had to share.

Two other great gold ideas to spice up your holidays: A gold glittery DIY table setting and
(wait for it)
a glittery pink champagne cake layered with peach preserves and vanilla butter cream. YUMMERS.
Find out how to master these delectable ideas at Oh the Lovely Things.

Indus + Valley

This holiday season I'm lusting after this Free People Reversible Fur Parka. Not only does the fur look incredibly warm, but the embroidery is (get this) handmade by tribal women in the Indus Valley over 50 years ago as part of a wedding trousseau. Can you say, um, exquisite?

SO beautiful!

love the layering with sequins. ideal.

AHH if only.

Robert + Rodriquez

This Robert Rodriguez sequined silk top is so simple in design but high on impact.
Wouldn't it be perfect for a casual New Year's party?

The + Eames

"Take your pleasure seriously."

A week ago I went to a showing of "Eames: The Architect and the Painter", a documentary on Charles and Ray Eames narrated by James Franco. I thought it was a wonderful insight into not only the design and creative process of the Eames team, but a thoughtful reflection on the (mostly) loving relationship between Charles and Ray. If you have a lazy Sunday and are craving a bit of culture and art history, I would highly recommend it.

The Eames quote above was one of the best lines from the documentary.
Now there's some advice I can put into practice.
